Incident Of The French Camp – Bravery Story

continuation….The boy called the Emperor Napoleon and said that by God’s grace, they had captured Ratisbon. Just then, he unfurled the French eagle flag fixed in the market place. The marshall was still there. He invited Napoleon to go there soon and see the flag flying. On hearing this, Napoleon’s plans soared up again. Just then Napoleon looked at the boy closely. When the mother eagle sees its offspring, eaglet, that got injured, a film of tears closes its eyes. So also when Napoleon saw the boy, there was a film in his eyes. Napoleon was shocked and asked him if he was wounded.He carried the happy news to Napoleon about their victory and fell down dead saying taht he was killed, not wounded. His sense of duty, honour and bravery would be a source of emulation for us.

Under the commandership of Lannes the French soldiers were storming Ratisbon. Napolean was giving directions standing on a mound at a distance of a mile. He was standing with his legs wide, arms locked behind, neck outhurst, brows looking down and his mind filled with worries and fear.He was thinking silently. What would happen if his army leader faltered? His soaring plans would fall down. While he was thinking like this, he saw a horse coming on gallop very fast. The horse was not stopped till he reached the mound. A boy got down. He held the horse’s mane and stood erect. He kept his lips closed so tightly that blood could not come out. Only when he was observed closely and twice, he was seen to have been shot in two[Contin..] [...]
